Interesting read. I just wonder why none of those experiences was the straw that broke the camels back and convinced him to make some lifestyle changes.
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing, Patrick. I appreciate that this person had the gut's to share these experiences so candidly, but really, he still chose to continue living such a stressful, difficult life?
I honestly don't think people believe they have a choice. There is apparently such a back-lash against anti-fat people; it's like it's a diversity issue. I am gay, I am Hispanic, I am a woman, I am a Person of Considerable Girth. And all the "science" saying some people are just fat, it's genetic. Nothing to be done about it, can't help eating that much, etc...it is complete and utter bullshit. But instead of making attempts to stop it, society just "accepts" that some people are fat, and there you go. So we invent seatbelt extensions. And pay more per person on healthcare than any nation in the world...and people STILL die of utterly preventable diseases like type 2 diabetes! Ridiculous, really.
